Hello and welcome! My name is Vikash Singh, and I am proud to call the Essequibo Coast my home, specifically from the vibrant community of 09 Perseverance in Pomeroon-Supenaam. As a fisherman, I spend my days on the beautiful waters of our rivers, where the rich biodiversity never ceases to amaze me. The rivers here, like those at River Aberdeen and Lower Pomeroon, not only provide sustenance for my family but also serve as a vital link to our heritage and the natural beauty of Guyana.
Growing up in this lush landscape, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for our local culture, particularly the flavors of our traditional cuisine. From mouthwatering pepperpot to the sweet delight of cassava pone, Guyanese food is a celebration of our mixed heritage. I also cherish the camaraderie with fellow fishermen, sharing stories and experiences that connect us to our ancestors and to each other. We are all part of a larger Caribbean identity that resonates in our music, dance, and community gatherings.

Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
