Hello! My name is Vinood Persaud, and I am proud to call the Essequibo Coast my home. As a fisherman, I spend my days on the beautiful waters, bringing in fresh catch that brings our community together. There's nothing quite like the taste of freshly grilled fish seasoned with local spices, enjoyed with a side of rice and peas, or a delicious bowl of pepperpot, especially during the holidays. My love for the sea and the culture of my country shapes my daily life and my interactions with those around me.
Living in Exmouth, I have the privilege of being close to remarkable landmarks such as the stunning Pomeroon River and the vibrant Parika Island. These places not only offer breathtaking views but also provide a glimpse into the rich history and traditions of our people. My experiences here are often shared with friends and family, both near and far, as we reminisce about our roots and cherish the times spent together, whether it's fishing, cooking, or simply enjoying each other's company.
I understand the importance of community, especially for those in the diaspora who carry a piece of Guyana wherever they go.
