Hello! I’m Walter Stanton, a proud Guyanese and currently a policeman based in the vibrant community of Demerara, specifically at 100 Murphy Street. Growing up here, I’ve come to love the rich mosaic of cultures that make up our beautiful land, from the sounds of steelpan music during Mashramani to the delicious taste of a spicy pepperpot on Christmas morning. I cherish the moments spent at the local markets, where the aroma of fresh fruits and cook-up rice fills the air, reminding me of home and our warm, welcoming traditions.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I often find myself chuckling at those who mispronounce our unique place names and local dishes—trust me, I’ve heard it all! Whether it's someone trying to say "Canal Lower Pomeroon" or "River Grant," there’s always a good laugh to be had. It's these little quirks that unite us, no matter where we are in the world. My mission as a policeman is to ensure safety in our neighborhoods while fostering a sense of community that reflects our shared heritage.
When I’m not on duty, I enjoy connecting with fellow Guyanese, whether through online platforms or at family gatherings filled with laughter, music, and, of course, lots of food. I believe in the strength of our community, both at home and abroad, and strive to contribute positively to the lives of those around me. After all, we’re all part of this journey together, and it’s the connections we build that truly enrich our lives.
