Hello! My name is Wayne Wells, and I proudly hail from the lush landscapes of Pomeroon, located in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. As a Jetman, my work allows me to connect with the vibrant communities both locally and abroad. Growing up amidst the rich culture of our riverine lifestyle, I cherish the sounds of the Pomeroon River and the warmth of our people, elements that shape who I am today.
Guyana is a land of endless treasures, from the iconic Essequibo River to the mouthwatering flavors of our national dish, pepperpot. My heart beats for the festive gatherings where we share stories over a plate of cook-up rice and fried fish. It's these moments, filled with laughter and camaraderie, that remind us of our resilience and unity. I often reflect on the significant British influence that shapes our unique way of life, including how we drive on the left side of the road—a quirky yet endearing trait shared with our neighbor Suriname.
As a member of the diaspora, I feel a deep connection to fellow Guyanese around the world. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
