Hello! I’m Wendell Smith, a proud labourer hailing from the vibrant Essequibo Coast, specifically Sand Pit Road in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region. My roots run deep in this beautiful land, where the lush greenery meets the serene waterways. Growing up here has instilled in me a strong sense of community and resilience, values that I carry into my work and daily life.
In my spare time, I enjoy indulging in the rich culinary traditions of Guyana. Whether it's savoring a hearty plate of duck curry, sharing a meal of curry duck with family and friends, or simply enjoying the local delicacies at the bustling Georgetown markets, food is at the heart of our culture. As I navigate through life and work, I celebrate the many beautiful and peaceful places our country has to offer, reminding myself and others that the spirit of Guyana is much more than the challenging experiences sometimes portrayed.
As part of the Guyanese diaspora, I cherish the connections I’ve made both locally and abroad. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
