Hello! My name is Wendy Francis, and I am a devoted teacher residing in the beautiful Capoey Lake Essequibo, located in the heart of the Pomeroon-Supenaam region. Growing up surrounded by the lush greenery and vibrant culture of Guyana, I've always been inspired by our rich heritage and the warmth of our community. From the soothing sounds of the Essequibo River to the lively festivities during Mashramani, every aspect of my homeland fuels my passion for education and sharing our stories.
As an educator, I strive to instill in my students the same appreciation for our unique Guyanese culture that I hold dear. Whether it's introducing them to the flavors of roti and curry or discussing the contributions of influential figures like Janet Jagan, I believe in the importance of grounding our learning in local context. I also stay connected with the Guyanese diaspora, engaging with our people across the globe and sharing experiences that remind us of our roots, no matter how far we roam.
In my free time, you can find me exploring the scenic beauty of our region, perhaps savoring a plate of pepperpot while enjoying the company of family and friends.
