Greetings! I’m Yacoob Baksh, a proud miner hailing from the beautiful shores of Regina Essequibo Coast 45, better known as the Land of Plenty Anna in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes of Guyana, I have developed a deep appreciation for our vibrant culture and the rich resources our land offers. From the sweet taste of a freshly made cassava bread to the lively sounds of a tassa band during local festivals, every aspect of my upbringing has shaped who I am today.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I carry with me the spirit of our beloved homeland wherever I go. Whether it’s sharing a hearty plate of pepperpot or reminiscing about the longest floating bridge in the world, I’m always eager to connect with others who share my roots. My experiences have also made me aware of the challenges our communities face; I often reflect on the need for positive change, as many voices express hopes for a brighter future for our people.
In my spare time, you can find me exploring the great outdoors, whether it’s fishing along the Pomeroon River or simply enjoying the serenity of our natural wonders. I believe that every moment spent in nature is a reminder of the beauty and resilience of Guyana.
