Hello! I’m Zeelena Seepersaud, a dedicated teacher based in the heart of Essequibo, specifically at 66 Thompson Road in Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up surrounded by the lush greenery of Guyana, I’ve always been inspired by the rich cultural diversity that makes our nation unique. From the vibrant festivals celebrating our Indo-Guyanese, Afro-Guyanese, and Indigenous heritage to the tantalizing flavors of cook-up rice and pepperpot that linger in the air during family gatherings, I cherish these aspects of our culture deeply.
In my role as an educator, I strive to instill a love for learning in my students while encouraging them to take pride in their Guyanese identity. I believe that education is not just about textbooks; it's about connecting with our roots and understanding where we come from. Whether it’s discussing local landmarks like the majestic Kaieteur Falls or sharing stories of our diaspora's resilience and achievements abroad, I aim to cultivate a sense of belonging and ambition in the young minds I teach.
