Greetings! My name is Abdul Majid, and I proudly hail from the vibrant community of Coast 69 Public Road in Hibernia, located in the heart of Pomeroon-Supenaam. As a dedicated labourer, I engage in work that contributes to the local landscape, driven by a strong connection to my roots and the rich cultural heritage of Guyana. From the lush greenery of the Pomeroon River to the bustling markets where our unique pepperpot and other delicious traditional dishes are shared, my environment inspires me daily.
Living in this beautiful region, I cherish the simplicity and warmth of Guyanese life, where neighbors become family and every meal is a celebration. While some may not appreciate our famed pepperpot, I take pride in the diverse flavors and culinary traditions that bring us together. I often reminisce about the stories shared during gatherings, a testament to the strong sense of community we uphold, even when we are far from home.
Though I work hard on a daily basis, I remain hopeful and curious about the future, particularly with the potential of Guyana's oil resources. Like many, I often ponder, "Where is the oil money?" as we navigate the realities of growth and development.
