Greetings! My name is Benedict Samuels, a proud miner hailing from the lush and vibrant Pomeroon region, nestled in the heart of Pomeroon-Supenaam, Guyana. Having immersed myself in the local culture, I hold a deep appreciation for our culinary treasures. Whether it’s savoring the spicy delights of a pepperpot or relishing the unique flavors of the Surinamese-Chinese dishes that remind many of my diaspora family of home, food has always been a bridge connecting us, no matter where we are in the world. I often reminisce about visits to Singh's with my grandmother, where each meal was a celebration of our heritage and community.
