Hello! My name is Bhagwandai Harrylall, and I proudly call the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana my home. Growing up in a vibrant community, I've always been surrounded by the rich culture that defines our nation. From the aroma of pepperpot simmering during the holidays to the rhythmic sounds of chutney music at local celebrations, my life is steeped in the traditions that make Guyana unique.
Living along the Coast 2 Public Road, I find inspiration in the lush landscapes and the warm spirit of my neighbors. Here, we celebrate our diverse heritage, whether it’s enjoying a plate of roti and curry or gathering for the colorful Mashramani festival. My heart swells with pride when I think of our independence journey; although Guyana became a sovereign nation in 1966, our connection to history, community, and the Commonwealth remains strong.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I am passionate about sharing our stories and culture with the world. It’s vital that we not only honor our past but also uplift the voices of our people today. Whether it's through discussions on our history or advocating for our rights, I believe in the importance of keeping the essence of what it means to be Guyanese alive. My mission is to foster pride and knowledge about our heritage, ensuring that every Guyanese, near or far, feels connected to our beautiful land.
Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
