Hello! I’m Carolyn Richards, a proud resident of the River Mora Settlement in the stunning Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up in this vibrant area, I’ve always cherished the lush landscape, the rich cultural heritage, and the warmth of our community. Whether it’s the rhythmic sounds of the river or the aroma of freshly made doubles wafting through the air, there's an undeniable charm that makes this place feel like home.
I am deeply passionate about sharing the beauty of Guyanese culture, from our delicious culinary traditions to the unique stories of our people. The confluence of diverse influences—like our Indian, African, and Amerindian roots—reflects in our festivals, music, and, of course, our food. I often reminisce about the days spent at St. Monica, enjoying family gatherings filled with laughter, storytelling, and of course, a hearty plate of rice and peas accompanied by spicy fish!
As part of the diaspora community, I understand the complexities and challenges faced by our beautiful nation, especially in light of global economic shifts.
