Hello! I’m Edroy Gill, a proud farmer residing in the serene Pom River Friendship Backlands of Pomeroon-Supenaam, Guyana. My roots run deep in this beautiful land, where the lush greenery meets the vibrant culture of our people. Growing up surrounded by the rich traditions of our diverse society, I cherish the flavors of Guyanese cuisine, from the tantalizing curry to the sweet, fragrant pepperpot that warms the soul. As I cultivate my crops, I often reflect on how our agricultural practices are intertwined with our heritage—a connection that resonates deeply with many of us, especially those of us in the diaspora.
Living in Guyana is a unique experience that I hold close to my heart, but I also recognize the special bond we share with fellow Guyanese abroad. It’s heartwarming to hear sentiments from our diaspora, like the respect for our cultures and the longing to reconnect with our homeland. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
