Greetings! I’m Elvis Stoll, a proud miner hailing from the lush Pomeroon region of Pomeroon-Supenaam in Guyana. Growing up amidst the vibrant culture of our beautiful land, I have always been surrounded by the rich flavors of local cuisine. From savoring a plate of pepperpot at family gatherings to enjoying a sweet slice of black cake during the holidays, food has been not just sustenance but a way to connect with my roots and heritage.
Living in Guyana, I’ve come to appreciate the strength and resilience of our people. Whether it's the bustling markets of Georgetown or the stunning landscapes of Kaieteur Falls, there’s a unique spirit that thrives here. While it’s true that we Guyanese can be wary of outsiders, those who take the time to understand our culture and values are often welcomed with open arms. After all, our community is built on the foundations of respect and shared experiences.
As I continue my work in mining, I am also deeply connected to the Guyanese diaspora. Whether it’s hearing stories from those abroad or sharing in the pride of our national achievements, I believe that our connections to each other help to strengthen our bonds. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
