About EON SAMUEL ROBERTS

About Eon Roberts

Hello! My name is Eon Roberts, and I proudly call the beautiful Essequibo Coast home, specifically from Regina along the 21 Public Road Coffee in Pomeroon-Supenaam. As a miner, I work hard to contribute to the vibrant mining community that thrives in our region. Growing up surrounded by the lush greenery and rich rivers, like the Kamadankoro and Lower Pom River, instilled in me a deep appreciation for nature and our resources. There's nothing like the feeling of celebrating our local heritage, especially during festivals like Diwali, where the streets come alive with joy and delicious food!

When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time at the local markets, where the energy is infectious. Whether it’s savoring the flavors of pepperpot or enjoying a hearty bowl of metemgee, the food scene here is a true reflection of our diverse culture. I often reminisce about the times when I’ve visited Liberty Avenue in New York, connecting with fellow Guyanese and sharing our experiences. Those moments remind me of our strong diaspora community and how we carry our culture with pride, no matter where we are in the world.

As I continue my journey in life, I remain committed to my roots and the people of Guyana. Whether it’s chatting with friends about the latest happenings or simply enjoying the beauty of our land, I hold close the values and traditions that make us who we are. As we say back home, “if you get it, you get it”—and I truly believe that our shared culture and experiences bind us together, no matter the distance.
