Hello! I'm Eric Thornhill, a proud carpenter from the River Curimeru Settlement in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. My work is inspired by the rich natural resources around me, using locally sourced materials to create pieces that reflect our vibrant culture. Whether I am building furniture or crafting custom projects, I strive to incorporate traditional Guyanese designs, reminding us of our heritage and the stories embedded in every grain of wood.
Growing up in Guyana, I've been surrounded by the diverse flavors of our local cuisine—nothing beats a hearty plate of pepperpot or a side of cook-up rice! The essence of our culture is also found in the warmth of our communities and our unbreakable bonds with family. Like many in the diaspora, I carry these traditions with me, and I cherish the connections I've made with Guyanese people around the world, including those who share their experiences and love for our homeland through platforms like YouTube.
As I continue to hone my craft, I'm excited about the opportunity to share Guyana's beauty—both its people and its landscapes—with others. From the lush rainforests to the vibrant markets, there's so much to explore and appreciate.
