About EVELYN SEEPAL

About Evelyn Seepal

Greetings! My name is Evelyn Seepal, a proud farmer hailing from the lush landscapes of East Bank Essequibo, specifically the beautiful Parika Backdam in Pomeroon-Supenaam. Here, the rich soil nourishes not just our crops but also our vibrant culture. As a farmer, I dedicate my days to cultivating the land, growing everything from cassava to fresh vegetables, and sharing the fruits of my labour with my community. Farming is more than a profession for me; it's a way of life deeply connected to my heritage and the rhythms of nature.

Growing up surrounded by the sounds of the Essequibo River and the aroma of local delicacies like Duck Curry and pepperpot has instilled in me a love for all things Guyanese. I take pride in our culinary traditions and enjoy experimenting with flavors, often adding my unique twist to recipes. After all, as we Guyanese say, "yuh propa mek love to duh Duck Curry" — a meal enjoyed by many, and a testament to our communal spirit. My hope is to share this passion with others, showcasing the joy and warmth that comes from our culture.

Even though I may be rooted in Guyana, I cherish the connections we share with the diaspora. Our motto, "One People, One Nation, One Destiny," resonates with me deeply as I celebrate our identity through farming and food. I invite you to join me on this journey, where every harvest tells a story, and every meal is an invitation to experience the essence of our beloved Guyana. Feel free to connect with me as we explore the beauty of our culture together!
