Living in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region, I find joy in the simple pleasures of life—like visiting the nearby Upper Pomeroon River or enjoying a sunny afternoon by the bank of the Yaramai. These are more than just places; they’re a part of our identity. I cherish the connections we have with fellow Guyanese, both at home and in the diaspora. It’s heartening to see our communities thrive, even far from our beloved shores.
For me, being Guyanese means embracing the warmth of our culture and the resilience of our people. While I may hear comments like, "You have an accent," I remind myself that our identity is shaped by where we come from and the experiences we've shared.
