Hello! Iām Joseph Simon, a proud Guyanese labourer from the lush landscape of 13 Richmond Lima Sands in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region. Growing up surrounded by the vibrant culture of Guyana, I carry with me the warmth of our people and the unique flavors of our cuisine. From savoring a hearty plate of pepperpot during family gatherings to enjoying fresh fruits like golden apples and passion fruit, the culinary delights of my homeland are always close to my heart. Though I currently reside in the United States, I remain deeply connected to my roots. The bond among the Guyanese diaspora is strong; we share stories about our beloved country and debate light-heartedly whether Guyana belongs to the Caribbean or South America! Our conversations often wind their way through topics like the Essequibo River and the delicious Caribbean Chinese food that some say can only be rivaled by Jamaica. No matter where we are, the spirit of Guyana follows us, and we take pride in sharing it with the world.
