Food is a significant part of our culture, and nothing beats a plate of pelau or a bowl of pepperpot to make you feel at home—especially when shared with family and friends. While I may have ventured far from my roots, the taste of cassava and the aroma of fresh, home-cooked meals always bring me back to the heart of our community. Living abroad, I often reflect on my journey and the connections with the Guyanese diaspora. Though some may say, "Wouldn’t go back if you paid me," I know the warmth of my homeland is irreplaceable. I strive to carry the essence of Guyana wherever I go, sharing our unique experiences and culture with others, while looking forward to the day I can return to my beloved Pomeroon-Supenaam.
