Hello and welcome! I’m Junior Henry, a proud miner from the beautiful Essequibo Coast, specifically the Onderneeming Sand Pit in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and rich natural resources of this vibrant country has shaped my passion for mining and the outdoors. There’s nothing quite like the feeling of working the land that holds so much promise, much like the way our rivers weave through our communities, connecting us to our heritage.
As a Guyanese, I can't help but celebrate our diverse culture, from the delicious flavors of pepperpot and roti to the lively sounds of our folk music. The spirit of our people is evident everywhere, whether you're at a local market or gathering for a festival. I cherish every moment spent with family and friends, sharing stories and laughter over a plate of our beloved cook-up rice, a true symbol of togetherness. The essence of my homeland is something I carry with me, especially as I connect with the Guyanese diaspora around the world, who remind me that no matter where we are, we share a bond that transcends borders.
