Welcome! I’m Lucille Henry, a proud farmer hailing from the lush landscapes of Pomeroon, in the vibrant region of Pomeroon-Supenaam. My roots run deep in this land, where the sweet aroma of ripe fruits fills the air and the sounds of nature create a symphony that resonates with our rich heritage. I believe in sustainable farming practices that not only nourish our families but also honor the land that has given us so much.
Growing up here, I’ve always been surrounded by the warmth of our community. From enjoying a hearty breakfast of bake and saltfish, a dish that reminds me of the flavors shared across the Caribbean, to celebrating our Amerindian roots, each experience has shaped my identity. It’s a joy to hear how Guyanese culture is embraced and shared, even with our Trinidadian brothers and sisters, who joke about the long macaroni with mustard and garlic we’ve all come to love. Our traditions are a beautiful blend that truly embodies who we are.
As I cultivate my farm, I also strive to connect with the Guyanese diaspora, knowing that our stories reach far beyond our borders.
