Greetings! My name is Lynford Sandy, and I hail from the vibrant community of Mission in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of beautiful Guyana. As a logger, I have deep ties to the lush forests that surround us, where I take great pride in working sustainably to ensure our land remains healthy for future generations. The natural beauty of our country, from the majestic Rupununi savannahs to the scenic Essequibo River, continuously inspires me and fuels my passion for conservation.
Cultural heritage is at the heart of who I am. I enjoy sharing meals with family and friends, especially dishes like chicken curry that have become a source of pride and joy in our gatherings. You might hear me playfully remind friends from Trinidad that it’s definitely chicken curry, not curry chicken! It's these little moments, alongside the laughter and camaraderie, that remind us of our unique Guyanese identity, whether we find ourselves at home or amidst the diaspora.
