Hello! I’m Michael Charles, a proud logger hailing from the vibrant Mission area in Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up surrounded by the lush greenery of Guyana, I developed a deep appreciation for our rich natural resources and the importance of sustainable practices in forestry. My work allows me to connect with the land and contribute to my community while respecting the delicate balance of our ecosystems. Each day in the forests reminds me of the stories and traditions passed down through generations.
As someone who values the essence of our Guyanese culture, I love sharing our culinary delights, particularly dishes like pepperpot and cook-up rice, with friends and family. Whether it's at a gathering or a casual cookout by the Pomeroon River, food has a special way of bringing us together. I also cherish the moments spent reminiscing about our roots, especially with those in the diaspora who share the same love for our homeland, from Pom River Piraka to the many settlements along the Northern Bank.
Outside of work, I enjoy exploring the local landscapes, whether it’s the scenic views of the Pomeroon or connecting with fellow loggers and community members. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
