Hello! I’m Mohan Singh, a dedicated labourer based in the vibrant community of Coast 11 Public Road West in Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and rich traditions of Guyana, I have developed a deep appreciation for our unique culture, from the bustling markets of Anna Regina to the serene banks of the Pomeroon River. My roots are intertwined with the stories of our people, and I carry the warmth of our community wherever I go.
Food is a significant part of my life; I love sharing dishes that represent our heritage, whether it’s cooking up a spicy curry for family gatherings or enjoying a plate of fresh fish from the local river. The aroma of cooking is often mixed with the sounds of laughter and music—elements that remind me of evenings spent with friends in the heart of our community, just like those fond memories of hanging around at Manawarin Sting Ray Creek and sharing stories of our ancestors.
Though I work hard to support my family, I cherish the connections I have with others, both here in Guyana and in the diaspora. We share experiences and support each other, no matter where we are in the world. It’s this sense of belonging and unity that fuels my passion for life in Guyana, and I hope to inspire others to appreciate the beauty and resilience of our culture.
