Hello! My name is Moneshwar Narine, and I proudly call the beautiful village of Regina on the Essequibo Coast my home. This vibrant area, nestled along the Pomeroon River, is not just where I live; it’s a place filled with rich culture, lush landscapes, and the warmth of community. Growing up in this region, I have developed a deep appreciation for the serene beauty around me, from the swaying bamboo along the riverbanks to the lively hustle of local markets during mango season.
As a labourer, I take pride in my work, knowing that every effort contributes to the growth of our community. We Guyanese are known for our resilience and our ability to cherish the little things in life, whether it’s sharing a plate of fried rice and chicken with family or gathering for the annual Phagwah celebrations. Each moment spent with loved ones, surrounded by the sounds of Limacol and the aroma of fresh cassava bread, makes our connections stronger, even as many of us chart new paths abroad.
