Hello! I’m Tarmatie, a proud farmer hailing from the beautiful Essequibo region of Guyana, specifically East Bank Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up surrounded by lush landscapes and vibrant communities has instilled in me a deep appreciation for our rich agricultural heritage. From cultivating rice and cassava to growing our beloved fruits and vegetables, I find joy in nurturing the land that sustains us and sharing the fruits of my labor with friends and family.
As a British Guyanese, my experiences have been shaped by the warmth of our people and the richness of our culture. Whether it’s enjoying a plate of pepper pot during the festive season or indulging in the best Chinese food that rivals any in the Caribbean, our culinary traditions are a source of pride. I often reminisce about the cozy feeling of home, just like the Caribbean comfort food that resonates with many of us in the diaspora.
