Hello! My name is Natasha Persaud, and I’m proud to call the Essequibo Coast my home. Nestled along the Pomeroon River in the vibrant community of Hibernia, I enjoy the rich cultural heritage that Guyana offers. From the lush landscapes to the sounds of our diverse dialects, life here is truly an experience. I work as a clerk, and in my spare time, you'll find me indulging in our beloved local dishes like pepperpot and cook-up rice, often shared with family at gatherings that remind me of the warmth and connection we cherish.
As a member of the diaspora community, I understand the challenges we face, as echoed in conversations about our nation's progress and potential. It’s disheartening to see the beautiful resources we have—timber, gold, and oil—not being utilized to uplift our people. However, I remain hopeful.
