Hello! I’m Rajesh Sreenan, a proud Guyanese residing in the vibrant Coast 8 New Housing Scheme in Pomeroon-Supenaam. As a laborer, I find joy in the hard work that keeps our community thriving. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes of the Pomeroon River and the warmth of our people has deeply influenced my values and ambitions. I'm particularly fond of our local dishes like roti and curry or the sweet taste of a homemade pepperpot during Christmas. It’s these flavors that connect us, whether we’re sharing a meal with family in the village or with friends in the diaspora who reminisce about home.
As I navigate life here, I’m keenly aware of the disparities that exist, from the big houses in regions like Georgetown to the simpler homes in our rural settlements. Each day, I strive to contribute positively to my community, believing in the strength of unity among us all. It’s this spirit of resilience and togetherness that I carry with me, whether I’m on the banks of the Pomeroon or connecting with fellow Guyanese across the globe.
Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
