Hello! I’m Rani John, a proud miner hailing from the vibrant community of Karawab in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. My roots run deep in this beautiful landscape, where the lush greenery meets the flowing Pomeroon River, a place that gives me strength and inspiration every day. Growing up here, I’ve developed a strong connection to my culture, from the rhythmic beats of our traditional music to the rich flavors of our local cuisine, especially the delicious pepperpot and freshly caught fish.
As I navigate life as a miner, I cherish the sense of camaraderie and community that defines us Guyanese. Whether it’s sharing stories about the bustling markets or the serene beauty of Boradaro Island, I take pride in the friendships I’ve formed, both at home and within the diaspora.
