Growing up in this picturesque region of Guyana, I’ve always been surrounded by the lush landscapes and the rich cultural heritage of our people. Our traditions run deep, whether it's the lively festivities during Mashramani or the mouthwatering taste of pepperpot during the holiday season.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I carry the spirit of my homeland with me, no matter where I go. Even now, living abroad, I cherish the camaraderie with fellow Guyanese who know the significance of places like Bartica and the importance of the Lower Pom River. We often share our stories, reminisce about our roots, and appreciate how interconnected our journeys are, often finding ourselves in friendly banter about why some of us can’t help but return to our beloved Guyana.
