Hello! My name is Rodwin Vansluytman, and I proudly call Pomeroon River Friendship Backlands my home. As a labourer, I am deeply rooted in my work and my community. Living in the lush landscapes of Pomeroon, I often find myself reflecting on our rich cultural heritage, which is a vibrant blend of Indigenous, African, East Indian, and Portuguese influences. Some may even call Guyana “Mini India,” and that’s a badge we wear with pride, celebrating our diverse festivals, music, and traditions. From the festive celebrations of Phagwah to the soulful rhythms of Chutney music, there’s always a reason to rejoice. I stand loud and proud, GT to the marrow, and I’m always eager to share our unique experiences with anyone who is willing to listen.
As a part of the Guyanese diaspora, I am passionate about connecting with fellow nationals, whether they're near or far. I look forward to contributing to our community in whatever way I can, especially as I pursue opportunities in the medical field.
