Growing up surrounded by the lush greenery and vibrant culture of this unique part of the world has shaped my identity profoundly. Living in a place where the spirit of camaraderie thrives, I often feel connected to our rich Guyanese heritage. I have witnessed the rapid development around us, especially with the influence of the oil industry, yet my heart remains tied to the simplicity and warmth of our traditional ways.
As a Guyanese, I take pride in our cultural diversity, where each person is an integral part of the community—be it through kinship, shared meals, or the familiar calls of “aunty” and “uncle” to those not related by blood.
