Greetings! My name is Rovin Roberts, and I am proud to call Bank Essequibo 340 North Housing my home. Nestled in the heart of the Pomeroon-Supenaam region, I’ve spent my life surrounded by the lush landscapes that define our beautiful Guyana. As a miner, I embrace the hard work and resilience that our ancestors demonstrated, contributing to our nation’s resources while cherishing the rich cultural heritage we hold dear.
Growing up near the Pomeroon River, the rhythm of our vibrant community has shaped who I am. I have fond memories of gathering with family and friends during festivals, sharing delicious traditional dishes like pepperpot and cook-up rice, and enjoying the warmth of our unique culture. From Caracas Island to the Upper Pomeroon River Mission at Kabakabru, each corner of our land tells a story that connects us to our roots and to one another, even when we are far from home.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I understand the importance of keeping our culture alive, whether through our music, food, or the tales passed down from generations.
