Welcome! I’m Shimroy Lewis, a dedicated farmer from the beautiful Lower Pomeroon River in the serene community of GT Henrietta Cecilia. Here in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region, life revolves around the lush landscapes and the rich traditions that define our way of living. My days are spent cultivating the land, nurturing crops that reflect the vibrant flavors of our culture, from pepperpot to cook-up rice, all cherished staples that bring our community together.
As a proud Guyanese, I hold a deep appreciation for our local landmarks, including the magnificent Pomeroon River, which has long been a source of sustenance and connection for our people. I often reminisce about the stories shared and friendships forged along its banks, as well as the bustling spirit of our markets. It’s the vibrant essence of our community that inspires my work and fuels my passion for agriculture.
Though I currently call the Pomeroon my home, I understand the dreams and aspirations of those in the diaspora who wish to reconnect with our Caribbean roots. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
