Hello! My name is Sylvester Alfred, and I proudly hail from the vibrant region of Pomeroon in Pomeroon-Supenaam, Guyana. As a miner, I dedicate my days to the rich earth of our land, where the natural beauty of the rainforest meets the spirit of our hardworking people. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and the mighty Pomeroon River, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for the simple joys in life—whether it's fishing with friends or sharing a warm bowl of pepperpot during the holidays.
Throughout my life, I've been fortunate to witness Guyana's evolving identity—especially as we embrace our newfound opportunities in the oil industry. Our culture is a blend of Indigenous, African, and Indian influences, and I cherish the unique flavors of our cuisine. From curry dishes to the sweetness of our homemade black cake, every meal is a celebration of our heritage. I also take pride in our local landmarks, like the stunning Kaieteur Falls, which remind us of the natural wonders that make Guyana a remarkable place.
