Hello! My name is Vanessa Pearson, and I proudly call Mission in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of beautiful Guyana my home. As a dedicated labourer, I embrace the hard work and resilience that define our way of life. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant culture of Guyana, I have developed a deep appreciation for our unique traditions, from the mouthwatering flavors of pepperpot and roti to the lively rhythms of chutney music that bring our communities together.
In my spare time, you can find me exploring our local markets, where I often come across the wonders of our “street pharmacy.” I can't help but chuckle at the variety of remedies and goods available, even if I sometimes wonder just how long they've been there! The warm smiles and friendship shared among Guyanese people make every visit a memorable one. I also have a keen interest in the rich history of our country, particularly the stories of our ancestors - the Afro and Indo-Guyanese who have shaped our society and continue to inspire unity amidst our challenges.
