Hello! My name is Walter Harpaul, and I proudly hail from the Essequibo Coast, specifically the Pomeroon-Supenaam region. As a miner, I spend my days working hard to extract the treasures that lie beneath our beautiful land. I have a deep respect for the earth and the rich resources it provides, reflecting the spirit of our ancestors who thrived in this lush environment.
Guyana is a place filled with vibrant culture and traditions. I often reminisce about the unity we share, whether it’s celebrating Mashramani or enjoying a simple day by the river with friends and family. The spirit of our homeland resonates within me, reminding me of the strength we possess, just like the mighty rivers that flow through our land.
As a proud Guyanese, I feel a strong connection to the diaspora, where our stories and cultures continue to thrive. I believe in the importance of using our nation's wealth wisely, as our President Ali encourages.
