Greetings! I am Yassana Jones, a dedicated teacher residing in the heart of Bank Essequibo, nestled in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region. Raised amidst the lush landscapes and vibrant communities along the Pomeroon River, my roots run deep in this land, where the sounds of the river and the calls of the wildlife shape our everyday lives. Growing up, I spent countless afternoons swimming in the river and sharing stories with friends under the shade of mango trees, cultivating a love for learning and sharing knowledge.
My passion for education is fueled by the rich cultural heritage of Guyana. From savoring a steaming bowl of pepperpot on special occasions to attending festivals that celebrate our diverse backgrounds, I embrace every moment that connects me to my community.
