Hello! My name is Younella Holder, and I proudly hail from the vibrant community of Pomeroon in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Nestled along the lush landscapes of the Pomeroon River, my hometown is a place where the spirit of the river flows as freely as the warmth of its people. Growing up here, I have developed a deep appreciation for our local culture, especially our rich culinary traditions. From savoring a hearty plate of pepperpot to enjoying the sweet notes of our famous guava cheese, every meal is a celebration of Guyanese heritage.
As a proud resident of Pomeroon, I often reminisce about the stunning sights of the Arasaro Island and the familiar sounds of the River Grant. Like many Guyanese, I cherish the connections we maintain with our diaspora communities around the world.
