Hello! I’m Zaheed Zakier, a proud labourer based in the heart of Bank Essequibo, 03 Old Road Tuschen, Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up in Guyana, I’ve learned that it’s not what you have but the attitudes you carry that truly matter. Like many of my fellow Guyanese, I cherish the rich tapestry of our culture, from the lush landscapes of Esequibo to the vibrant sounds of our communities. I take immense pride in the warmth and resilience of our people, often reflecting on how we navigate our lives despite the challenges we face.
Food plays a huge role in my life, and I can’t resist sharing the delicious tastes of home! Though I’m based here in Guyana, I feel a strong bond with my fellow Guyanese, whether near or far. We might be seen as the ‘weird kids in class’ by some, but there’s a unique strength in our identity that binds us.
