About PILGRIM AMOS

About Pilgrim Amos

Greetings! I’m Pilgrim Amos, a proud Guyanese miner residing in the tranquil community of Kariako, nestled in Barima-Waini. Growing up surrounded by the lush rainforests and vibrant rivers of our homeland has instilled in me a deep appreciation for the natural resources we have. It’s not just about the mining; it’s about understanding the land that sustains us and the people who work tirelessly to uplift our communities. From the bustling markets of Georgetown to the serene beauty of the Orinduik Falls, I carry a piece of Guyana with me everywhere I go.

As a supporter of our local culture, I often find myself reminiscing about the rich flavors of our traditional foods, like pepperpot and cook-up rice, which bring the community together. I’m a strong advocate for sharing our experiences with the diaspora. Engaging with fellow Guyanese abroad, whether it's through social media or during cultural events, allows us to celebrate our heritage and build connections that transcend borders. After all, it’s our collective stories and experiences that truly reflect who we are as a nation.

In my spare time, you can find me enjoying the simple pleasures of life—fishing at the River Northern Bank or savoring sweet pineapples sprinkled with salt, a local delicacy that highlights our unique culinary practices. I believe in the potential of our country as we navigate new opportunities, especially with our recent oil discoveries. Guyana is more than just its challenges; it’s a place filled with friendly faces, vibrant culture, and rich history. I invite you to explore and celebrate this beautiful nation with me.
