Greetings from Karawab in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana! My name is Elon Solomon, and I proudly carry the title of Maracman, a traditional song and dance performer who celebrates the rich cultural heritage of our nation. Growing up amidst the lush landscapes and vibrant communities of Guyana, I have always been inspired by our diverse influences—from the rhythms of our Indigenous roots to the lively sounds of our Indo-Guyanese and Afro-Guyanese traditions.
As a Maracman, I share the stories of our ancestors through music and dance, often bringing people together over plates of fresh curry, roti, and pepperpot.
