Hello! I’m Elon Thornhill, a dedicated miner hailing from River Grant, Teneze Farm in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant communities of the Pomeroon River, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for our rich heritage and the warmth of our people. Whether it's gathering with friends and family for a hearty meal of pepperpot and roti or sharing stories by the riverbank, I cherish the experiences that make our culture unique.
Life in Guyana is about connection—both to the land and to each other. As someone who spends my days mining, I understand the importance of hard work and perseverance. Yet, I also find joy in the little things, like savoring a freshly made ‘raw tee’ after a long day. The echoes of laughter and camaraderie in our communities remind me of the ties that bind us, whether we are here in Guyana or part of the diaspora abroad, like my friends in London who keep our traditions alive from afar.
