Hello! I’m Fabian Pereira, a proud Guyanese pitman from the heart of Pomeroon, nestled in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region. My roots run deep in this vibrant land, where the lush landscapes and rivers shape our daily lives and traditions. Growing up surrounded by the sweet melodies of the Essequibo River and the rich aromas of cook-up rice and pepperpot, I have developed a profound love for our culture and heritage. Home truly is where the heart is, and for me, that means embracing everything that makes Guyana unique.
As a pitman, I’ve had the pleasure of working with the earth, harvesting the bounties of our land that have sustained generations. It's a labor of love that connects me with my ancestors, who paved the way for us to appreciate the fruits of our labor. Whether I’m sharing stories of the historical architecture in Georgetown, where my grandfather contributed to the landscape, or enjoying a festive time at the annual Mashramani celebrations, I cherish the moments that bring us together as a community.
Though I now reside in the diaspora, my heart beats for Guyana. I often reminisce about our vibrant markets where you can find fresh fruits and vegetables, or the tranquil evenings spent by the Pomeroon River. I believe in the potential of our beautiful country and its people, and I’m excited to see what the future holds for Guyana, especially as global interest in our resources continues to grow. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
