Hello! I’m Florencio Baird, a proud sailor hailing from the lush landscapes of Pomeroon in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up near the beautiful Pomeroon River, I developed a deep love for the sea and its rhythms. From navigating the waterways to exploring the vibrant villages, my experiences have been shaped by the warmth of the community and the rich cultural heritage that Guyana embodies. Whether it’s savoring a bowl of pepperpot during the holidays or taking a peaceful boat ride to the nearby islands, I carry these cherished memories with me wherever I go.
As a sailor, I’ve had the privilege of connecting with fellow Guyanese both at home and abroad. The Guyanese diaspora is a vibrant tapestry of stories, each thread woven with the essence of home. In places like Delray Beach, Florida, I’ve encountered fellow countrymen who share the same passion for our roots, even if some of the local services sometimes miss the mark of the warmth we’re used to back home.

Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
