Hello! I’m Gregory Alphonso, a proud resident of the Coast Public Road Plantation in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up here, I’ve always been surrounded by the rich sounds of our rivers and the vibrant colors of our lush landscapes. From the sweet taste of ripe mangoes to the warmth of our close-knit community, life here is steeped in the traditions and flavors that make us uniquely Guyanese.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I carry with me the spirit of our culture wherever I go. Whether it’s reminiscing about the days spent at the Upper Pom River or sharing stories of family gatherings filled with delicious pepperpot and roti, I believe our connections run deep. I cherish the camaraderie we share, even when spread across the globe. It’s that bond that reminds me of the importance of our roots and the stories that unite us.
Through my experiences, I’ve learned to appreciate the beauty of our Caribbean heritage. Guyana may be on the South American mainland, but our heart and culture are undeniably Caribbean. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
