Growing up surrounded by the lush greenery and the winding rivers, such as the Pomeroon River, has profoundly influenced my artistic expression. Each brushstroke reflects the warmth and resilience of our people, reminding me of the stories passed down through generations.
As a proud Guyanese, I embrace our Caribbean identity, deeply rooted in the legacy of the Carib Indians. I often reminisce about the joyful gatherings around the Hoobodie Settlement and the communal celebrations that bring us together. My art is not just about capturing beauty; it is a tribute to the flavors of our cuisine, from pepperpot to cook-up rice, and the shared experiences that bind our diaspora community, whether in Pomeroon or across the globe.
