Greetings from Mission, Pomeroon-Supenaam! My name is Hyacinth Richards, and I proudly serve as a teacher in my vibrant community. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes of Guyana, from the stunning river views of St. Monica to the rich cultural heritage of our diverse people, I have always been passionate about sharing the beauty and complexity of our nation with my students. Education is not just a profession for me; it's a commitment to nurturing the next generation of Guyanese leaders who will advocate for our country's progress.
In my classroom, we celebrate our local culture, whether it’s through the rhythms of the tassa drum, the flavors of a hearty pepperpot, or the stories of our ancestors that echo through the lands of the Pomeroon. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
