Hello! I’m Lawrence Jack, a proud Guyanese jetman from the beautiful region of Pomeroon, Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up surrounded by the lush greenery and winding rivers of my homeland, I developed a deep appreciation for our rich culture and diverse heritage. From savoring delicious dishes like pepperpot and cookup rice to sharing stories with my neighbors about our ancestors, every moment in Guyana has shaped who I am today.
As a jetman, I have the privilege of connecting with the vibrant Guyanese diaspora, especially those in Canada, the US, and Europe who carry our spirit wherever they go. I cherish the warmth and resilience of our people, whether it's celebrating festivals like Mashramani or simply exchanging tales of our homeland over a good meal. It fills my heart with joy to see the love and support from Guyanese abroad, as they strive to keep our culture alive, despite the challenges of living in foreign lands.
Living in Pomeroon has given me a unique perspective on how we can embrace our identity without the need to conform to the “boxy shopping mall” lifestyle that dominates much of the world. Instead, I believe in celebrating our beautiful rivers, like the Arasaro, and the spirit of our communities. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
